ROBOFEST 3.0- ReRo Hackathon
🠶The Remote Robotics Hackathon, the first-of-its-kind National 24-hour Online Robotics Competition, was organised on November 3rd and 4th in India’s First 24/7 ReRo(Remote Robotics Lab) set up by an educational institute. Participants from around the world had the opportunity to program and control the robots in the Remote Robotics Lab of IEEE RAS PESU, all from the comfort of their homes. The event was conducted entirely online over a span of 24 hours on the Discord platform and the ReRo website - https://rero.ieeeraspesu.tech/.
🠶Prior to the event, the registration platforms were the official RAS PESU website and Devfolio. These platforms drew the interest of students from universities across India such as SRM University, VIT Chennai, Amrita Vishwavidyapeetha, Vidyaship University, Reva University, and more. There was also interest from outside India, including a student from the University of North Carolina, USA. A total of 27 teams, each consisting of 1-4 members, registered for the event.
🠶In the first round, from 6 PM to 8 AM, participants were given access to a robot equipped with an ESP32 microcontroller, an array of IR sensors, and two motors controlled by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) values. They were tasked with designing and implementing a line-following algorithm that would control the robot to follow the yellow line and direct it to the end of the track.
